Medicines Development: A Strategic Function
Our Medicines Development team, also known as LRL @TechLilly, serves as a strategic function within Lilly Research Laboratories, partnering with the Medicines Development Unit (MDU) to drive business outcomes. The MDU focuses on taking potential marketable products from Research through product registration and approval, while MD (LRL @TechLilly) focuses on the MDU business needs of the future, enabling improvements through information and technology solutions.
Technical Lead: A Key Role
We’re seeking a talented Technical Lead to join our Medicines Development team, responsible for designing, developing, and deploying AI/ML solutions to drive business outcomes. This role will involve working across solution delivery, support, information consultants, and account teams, as well as other key partners, to deliver cross-functional consumer data requests. Additionally, this role will engage in transformational and enterprise-level efforts to innovate and accelerate our value delivery.
Responsibilities
As a Technical Lead, you will be responsible for:
- Designing, developing, and deploying AI/ML models and solutions
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver business outcomes
- Defining and influencing information and business strategies
- Developing solutions to achieve strategic outcomes
- Ensuring reliable deployment and support of solutions
- Engaging in transformational and enterprise-level efforts to innovate and accelerate value delivery
- Managing end-to-end processes, including requirement gathering, AI/ML model preparation, development, code changes, and deployment to production
Software Engineer AI/ML 2024 Roles and Responsibilities:
As a Software Engineer AI/ML, you will be responsible for:
- Understanding business requirements and effectively translating them into technical terms, and vice versa
- Coaching and guiding junior engineers to enhance their skills and knowledge
- Utilizing standardized processes for requirements definition, analysis, design, construct, and testing activities
- Designing, developing, and deploying generative AI models and chatbots to drive business outcomes
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand and deliver scalable AI solutions
- Fine-tuning models based on statistical analysis to ensure optimal performance
- Training and re-training systems/models as needed to maintain accuracy and relevance
- Utilizing libraries and frameworks such as LangChain to enhance AI capabilities
- Documenting processes to ensure reproducibility and maintainability
- Collaborating with team members during code reviews and knowledge sharing sessions to grow as a team
Required Experience for Software Engineer AI/ML 2024
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent years of experience)
- The ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
- Experience in the software development life cycle, spanning from project initiation to support
- A strong understanding of the development, testing, and validation lifecycles
- Hands-on experience with Azure GenAI and advanced machine learning algorithms
- Deep learning, statistics, and large language models (LLMs)
- Experience with LLMs like OpenAI, Llama2, and frameworks like Langchain and Llamaindex
- Proficiency in Python (at least intermediate level), Numpy, Pandas, Scikit learn
- Experience with model deployment, feature engineering, data pre-processing
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, Github
- Experience building chatbots with available models
- Familiarity with AWS cloud services like Lambda, S3, EC2
