As a Data Science Intern, you will work alongside business and technology partners across the organization to inform strategic decisions, shape enterprise strategy, and optimize business processes.
Our Ai team is dedicated to solving complex business problems and driving significant impact through the application of advanced analytics. We work closely with various departments, including Airport Operations, Contact Centers, Network Planning, Revenue Management, Digital Products, and Human Resources, to identify opportunities for improvement and develop data-driven solutions.
As a Data Science Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects, develop smart and innovative solutions, and contribute to the growth and success of our organization. Your key objectives will include:
- Developing machine learning-powered solutions to drive revenue, reduce costs, and enhance customer engagement
- Partnering with business leaders to identify opportunities for improvement and develop data-driven solutions
- Effectively structuring communication of insights from workstreams and delivering clear and professional presentations to stakeholders
- Working on projects in partnership with business teams to gather and analyze information and data
- Delivering high-quality ML solutions and maintaining proper documentation to foster seamless workflows and code-reusability principles
Requirements for Data Science Internship:
To be eligible for the Data Science Internship at United Airlines, you must:
- Be currently pursuing or have completed a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Technology, Computer Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or Economics
- Be available for a 6-month internship
- Not have prior industry experience (we welcome fresh talent!)
- Possess strong fundamentals in Machine Learning, including:
- Model Training/Validation
- Bagging/Boosting
- GBDT
- Neural Networks
- Be proficient in Python and SQL
